2022 MLB Power Rankings Betting Analysis Heading Into Week 13

2022 MLB Power Rankings Betting Analysis Heading Into Week 13

We are now very close to the midway point of the MLB season, and while there are a couple of teams opening up big leads in their respective divisions, the majority are beginning to tighten up. That makes for the possibility of an exciting second half of the season, but we are getting ahead of ourselves here. The purpose of our weekly look at the MLB Power Rankings is to taker a look at how teams are perceived now, although we are well aware that the rankings could well look very different once we head into the final few days and weeks of the regular season. As we do every week at this time, let’s take a look at the top and bottom 5 in the MLB Power Rankings after 12 weeks of play so you can continue making your bets against the MLB Betting Lines.

Power Rankings After Week 12 of the 2022 Season | MLB Betting Picks

Top 5

  1. New York Yankees – A 3-2 record in the past week is considered a poor showing for the Yankees, which should give you an idea of how high the bar is that they have set. They are still the only team to have crossed the 50-win mark.

  1. LA Dodgers – The week ended on a high with a come from behind win against the Atlanta Braves. That win means that the Dodgers have mow won 7 of their last 10 games and have opened up a 2-game lead in the West.

  1. Houston Astros – We mentioned at the start of this piece that a couple of teams have opened up huge leads in their divisions. The Astros are one of those teams, going 7-3 in their last 10 to open up a 10 ½ game lead.

  1. NY Mets – With a 47-27 record, the Mets still have the lead in the NL East, but they must be feeling the Braves creeping up on them. Still, a 5-game lead at this stage of the season is a comfortable place to be.

  1. Boston Red Sox – This team opened the season with a 10-19 record, leading to many fans writing them off. Since then, though, the Red Sox have gone an impressive 32-12, which very much has them back in the Wild Card picture.

Bottom 5

  1. Detroit Tigers – The Tigers closed out the week with a loss and have now gone 4-6 in their last 10 games. That leaves them in 4th in the division, with the Royals, who are also in the bottom 5, sitting below them.

  1. Cincinnati Reds – While the Reds ended Week 12 with a win, it did little to help their cause, as they now only have 2 wins in their last 10 games. They are now 2 ½ games away from getting off the bottom of the division.

  1. Washington Nationals – The Nationals are pretty far adrift at the bottom of the NL East, with little hope of getting out of that cellar. They have been a little better of late, going 4-6 in their last 10, but that has had little effect on their overall standing.

  1. Kansas City Royals – After a run that saw them win 6 of 8, the Royals then closed out the week with back-to-back losses to the worst team in baseball.

  1. Oakland A’s – The misfortune of the Royals proved to be good news for the A’s, as they closed things out with those 2 wins over the Royals. It’s a bit of a positive note in a season where there have not been too many for Oakland.
