NBA 2022 Power Rankings Betting Update: Memphis Grizzlies Slip Into Top 5

NBA 2022 Power Rankings Betting Update: Memphis Grizzlies Slip Into Top 5

Another week of NBA action is in the books, and while the Power Rankings did not see a ton of movement, we do have a new team slipping into the top 5. There is also a slight change down at the bottom of the rankings, with a new team taking possession of the cellar. These will certainly not be the last of the changes that we see in the coming weeks, but let’s look at the top and bottom 5 teams as they stand right now so you can continue betting against the NBA odds.

NBA Betting: Power Rankings Update for Week 13 of 2021 Season

Top 5

  1. Golden State Warriors – It has been a very good few days for the Golden State Warriors. Not only are they still sitting atop the NBA Power Rankings, they also got Klay Thompson back after over 2 years out through injury. Might they now get even better?
  2. Phoenix Suns – In terms of how things have gone this season, you do have to say that the current 6-4 run in the last 10 games is not what we have come to expect from the Suns this season. They are still a very solid 30-9.
  3. Chicago Bulls – The Bulls come into the new week on the heels of a loss, but don’t feel too bad for them, as that was their first defeat since way back on December 11. The Bulls stay atop the East with a 2-game lead over the Nets.
  4. Utah Jazz – The Jazz had done a good job of steering clear of COVID issues, but it has now finally caught up to them. They have 4 of their best players in health and safety protocols, so don’t look too deeply at their recent losses.
  5. Memphis Grizzlies – The Milwaukee Bucks dropped out of the top 5 this week and have been replaced by the Grizzlies. Memphis has now won 9 in a row, but perhaps more importantly, they also have the best conference record in the West.

Bottom 5

  1. New Orleans Pelicans – No change at the #26 spot this week, with the Pelicans continuing to be up and down of late. They are coming off a loss in their most recent game and are sitting at 5-5 over their last 10 outings.
  2. Oklahoma City Thunder – Any Thunder fans hoping for a change of pace in the New Year are out of luck to this point. After taking their 4th straight loss, OKC are still looking for their first win in 2022. They might slip further if they can’t find it soon.
  3. Houston Rockets – You cannot expect to win too many games if you cannot get the job done on the offensive side of the court. 11 of their last 14 losses have been of the double-digit variety, so this looks like a team that is regressing.
  4. Detroit Pistons – The Pistons are off the bottom of the rankings, and they got out of there in some considerable style, winning each of their last 2 games. Still, with just 9 wins on the season, no one is popping champagne corks.
  5. Orlando Magic – The Magic are sinking like a stone and finding it impossible to halt their current slide, which now sits at 9 games. They may have further yet to fall before they snap out of this current funk.
