2024 NHL Must Bet Games in Week 4 with Utah as a New Member and Debuting

We are still in the very early stages of the 2024 NHL season, making it hard to get a handle on just how good every team is.

Every year, we seem to see a couple of surprise teams come storming out the gate, just as the Calgary Flames did, but it is generally only a matter of time before normal order is resumed, and the preseason favorites begin to get on a roll, while those surprise teams generally sink back to the level we expected.

My Analysis of the NHL Must Bet Games Week 4

We are going to keep an eye on the standings and the changes that come with these streaks.

With all of that said, we are going to focus on the action coming our way this week.

We have picked out 4 games that we really like, so let’s dive into those games and take a quick look.

Boston Bruins at Toronto Maple Leafs

Tuesday, November 5, 2024, 7:00 PM, ESPN+

There is always something special about a matchup between a pair of Original 6 teams, but this one seems to be a little more fun than the rest given that these teams play in the same division.

Boston is currently sitting 4th in the division with a 6-6-1 record, and while they have been inconsistent in the early going, they are coming into this game on a 2-game win streak.

The Leafs are in 3rd in the division with a 6-5-2 record, but they are heading in the wrong direction, losing each of their last 2 games.

Boston does have a winning record at home, so they might have the edge here.

Vegas Golden Knights at Edmonton Oilers

Wednesday, November 6, 2024, 8:30 PM, ESPN+

Another big divisional game here, with both of these teams considered to be in with a real shot at winning the Pacific.

Vegas has looked very good in the early part of the season, going 8-3-1 to take the top spot in the division. They have, though, had trouble on the road, going 0-3-1 in 3 road trips.

The Oilers were slow out of the gate this year, but they seem to be finding their feet, moving to 6-5-1 after a win over their big rivals, the Calgary Flames, on Sunday night.

Edmonton has actually been better on the road than at home, so this feels like a coin flip.

Utah Hockey Club at St. Louis Blues

Thursday, November 7, 2024, 8:00 PM, ESPN+

The Vegas Golden Knight set the bat for what a new franchise could deliver right off the bat, but they have set a bar that is going to be tough for all future new franchises to meet.

Utah is trying to do their part to reach that bar and have been quite competitive in the early going. They are 5-4-3 to start the season, which has them down in 4th in the division, sitting just ahead of their opponent in this one.

The Blues are just 1 point back of Utah after a 6-6 start to the season, so they need to find a way to be more consistent if they are to be a playoff contender.

Minnesota Wild at Anaheim Ducks

Friday, November 8, 2024, 10:00 PM, ESPN+

The Wild are sitting in 2nd place in the Central; Division, but they are also 4 points back of the Jets on top.

Minnesota is doing all they can to keep pace with the leaders and come into this week on a 3-game winning streak to take their overall record to 8-1-2, which includes an impressive 5-1-1 road record.

The Ducks lost 2 in a row to close out last week and are quickly heading in the wrong direction in the Pacific, although they are still not that far off the pace.

2021 Top Matches, Week 4

Another week in the NHL is about to begin and there is only one team still sitting with an unbeaten record. That would be the Carolina Hurricanes, who have gone unbeaten in their opening 8 games of the season. Winning streaks are always great, but the NHL season is a long one where every team will have their share of ups and downs. At the opposite end of the scale, you have the Chicago Blackhawks and Arizona Coyotes still looking for their first win of the season. Even at this early stage, they are both in real danger of digging a hole that is much too deep to get out of. Let’s now look ahead at the best games on the NHL schedule for the coming week so you can bet against their NHL odds.

NHL Betting Odds – Games Analysis, Top Picks, Previews for Week 4 Matches

Washington Capitals at Tampa Bay Lightning – Monday

The defending Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning are off to a bit of a slow start, but there are signs that they are turning things around after winning 2 in a row. The Capitals are close to the top of the Metropolitan Division, and while they have 3 losses in 8, all those defeats came in OT, which means they have picked up points in every single game.

Detroit Red Wings at Montreal Canadiens – Tuesday

While neither of these two are lighting things up in the early going, it is always fun to see a pair of Original 6 teams go head-to-head. Detroit have cooled off after a decent start and come into the new week on the heels of 2 straight losses. They might be able to get back to winning against a Canadiens team that has just 2 wins out of their first 10 games.

Nashville Predators at Edmonton Oilers – Wednesday

The Central Division is tight in the early going, with the Nashville Predators currently sitting in 4th, just 4 points out of first. They come into the new week on a 3-game win streak and will be on the road to face an Oilers team that is off to a fantastic start to the season. This is a really good Western Conference showdown.

Dallas Stars at Calgary Flames – Thursday

The Calgary Flames come into the new week as one of the hottest teams in the league, having won 6 in a row to move to the top of the Pacific Division. Dallas have cooled off after a fast start and ended last week on a 3-game losing skid that they will be looking to snap out of. This might not be the game where it happens, unless Calgary goes on a slump of their own, which does not seem likely at the moment.

Chicago Blackhawks at Winnipeg Jets – Friday

Starting out the season with 9 straight losses is not what any team wants. If there is a silver lining for the Chicago Blackhawks, it’s that no team has really yet taken control of the Central Division. The Winnipeg Jets ended last week with a 4-2-2 record, which leaves them 2 points out of the top spot in the division. A potential mismatch here, but you never can tell when it comes to divisional games.
