Time is beginning to move quickly in the NBA season, with another week now in the books. As we do every Tuesday, it’s time to look back at the previous week and the NBA Power Rankings as they stand now. While things at the top are similar to last week’s rankings, we do have a new team arriving in the top 5 this week. Those changes tend to come through the Eastern Conference, where we have yet to see any one team really take control. We will get into that now as we look at the current NBA Power Rankings, specifically the top and bottom 5 so you can continue betting against the times. For now, let’s take a look at the current top and bottom 5 in the NBA Power Rankings so you can continue making your bets against the NBA Odds.
NBA Betting: Power Rankings Update for Week 16
Top 5
- Phoenix Suns – The Suns are on an absolute tear at the moment, winning 10 in a row to open up a 3-game lead at the top of the Western Conference. They are the only team in the league to be sitting on single-digit losses at this time.
- Golden State Warriors – The Warriors seem to be back on track after a bit of a rough patch, winning each of their last 6 games. They have been particularly good in their own building, which could make them a serious threat come playoff time.
- Memphis Grizzlies – No change from last week for the Grizzlies, who remain in the #3 spot for another week. They are comfortably in 3rd in the Western Conference, with the top 3 pulling away from the pack a little.
- Miami Heat – We finally get a team from the Eastern Conference in the top 5, which gives you an idea of the strength of the West. The Heat have now lost 2 in a row, so they may not be in such a lofty spot come next week.
- Philadelphia 76ers – We have a new entry into the top 5, with the 76ers on a good run of form at the moment. They are currently on a 5-game winning streak that has moved them up to 3rd in the East, just a half game out of the lead.
Bottom 5
- Sacramento Kings – The Kings have been hovering just above the bottom 5 for a minute, but they are back down in it now. It has been a run of 7 straight losses that has contributed to their downfall. How much longer will that poor run last?
- Oklahoma City Thunder – We are seeing some slight changes in the bottom 5 this week, including the Oklahoma City Thunder moving one spot in the right direction. Not a lot to get excited about, but they are coming off a wP
- Houston Rockets – As the Thunder rise, the Rockets drop down a spot again. This is not real surprise when you consider that they have lost 4 in a row and have just 3 wins in their last 10 games. Perhaps the slide is not yet over.
- Detroit Pistons – No change at the #29 spot, with the Pistons continuing to wallow near the bottom of the rankings. They are coming off a win, and with teams above them going on losing streaks, maybe they can move up a little.
- Orlando Magic – This is going to be the spot for the Magic for as long as they continue to have the worst record in the NBA. That said, they have won 2 in a row, so might we see them move off the bottom spot next week?
