2024 Dolphins Season | 55th in the National Football League | 3rd under head coach Mike McDaniel
2023: 11–6 record / 2nd AFC East

2024 NFL Season

Like fellow AFC East squads Buffalo and the New York Jets, the Miami Dolphins have Super Bowl aspirations.

The Fins handed Tua Tagovailoa a massive contract to remain their quarterback.

With their signal caller in the fold for the foreseeable future, the Dolphins believe they’re finally ready to challenge for the Lombardi.

If Miami is good enough, they’re going to have to win their key games.

Check out the most important games on the 2024 Miami Dolphins regular season schedule.

Writer’s Picks for the Top Dolphins Games

NFL Week 1 vs Jacksonville Jaguars

Like the Fins, Jacksonville believes they’re a playoff team.

Also like Miami, the Jaguars resigned their quarterback, Trevor Lawrence, to a massive contract.

Although this will be hailed as a battle between Lawrence and Tagovailoa, it won’t be much of a battle at all due to the Dolphins’ wide receiver room.

Tyreek Hill will be the best player on the field and the reason Miami wins.

NFL Week 2 vs Buffalo Bills

Miami always starts strong.

2024 will be no different as the Dolphins should hand Buffalo a division loss.

The reason will, again, be at the wide receiver position where the Bills are counting a talented rookie in Keon Coleman to hold his own while the Dolphins have Tyreek Hill, Odell Beckham Jr., and Jaylen Waddle.

NFL Week 10 at Los Angeles Rams

Although the Rams aren’t in Miami’s conference, beating the Rams will go a long way in pushing Miami closer to the AFC East Division title.

The Dolphins can’t expect to run the table versus their rivals in their division or conference, which means they must pick up wins agianst NFC opponents.

But Miami won’t beat the Rams.

Matthew Stafford has as many weapons on offense as Tua has and Staff takes on Tagovailoa at SoFi.

Miami falls.

NFL Week 13 at Green Bay Packers

This tells us how difficult Miami’s schedule this season is.

The Packers are a legit Super Bowl contender like the Rams.

The Dolphins will struggle because they always struggle on the road.

Also, most teams flounder at Lambeau and Miami will be one of those teams.

So chalk this up as another Miami loss.

NFL Week 14 vs New York Jets

The Jets at home should be a Miami Dolphins victory.

The Jets are much better than the Dolphins on defense, but NYJ doesn’t have Tyreek Hill.

The Jets do have Aaron Rodgers.

So beating the J-E-T-S won’t be easy, but Miami should prevail.

NFL Week 15 at Houston Texans

Tua Tagovailoa versus C.J. Stroud will be epic.

The Texans are the first game in Miami’s final four that will determine if the Dolphins win a wildcard.

Forget winning the division because the Dolphins must run the gauntlet in the final month.

As far as beating the Texans, it won’t happen.

Stroud wins the duel.

NFL Week 16 vs San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers are an NFC team, but because the Dolphins finish the season on the road versus the Browns and Jets, beating the Niners at home in NFL Week 16 is a must win.

On paper, Miami should have a chance.

But the 49ers are a more cohesive bunch with a stronger overall defense.

This game is a 100 on watchable meter if both the Niners’ Deebo Samuel and Christian McCaffrey, and Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle all play.

Bet over and give the win to San Francisco in a shootout.

NFL Week 17 at Cleveland Browns

The game will come down to the Browns rushing attack and defense versus Tua and Miami’s air raid.

Unfortunately for Miami fans, this could be the game that knocks the Dolphins out of the playoff race.

To be sure, Miami can win.

But by NFL Week 17, Kevin Stefanski often has his team peaking.

This season, the Browns will boast a top three defense while the offense should be better than it has been in a long time because Cleveland acquired Jerry Jeudy from the Broncos.

Miami losses to Cleveland.

NFL Week 18 at New York Jets

The loss to Cleveland doesn’t end Miami’s playoff dreams, falling to the Jets in NFL Week 18 should.

Miami has the potential to win the Super Bowl, but the schedule is brutal.

It will take a huge toll so that by NFL Week 18, the Fins will be gassed.

The Jets get the Dolphins on their field.

A motivated Jets team send the Dolphins home with a fourth straight loss to end the season.

NFL Miami Dolphins Odds: Top Betting Games to consider in Regular Season

Previous Betting News

The Miami Dolphins might have been legitimate Super Bowl contenders last season if quarterback Tua Tagovailoa could have stayed healthy, but Tua suffered two more concussions. The former Alabama star is healthy in training camp but can he stay that way? Let’s break down the Dolphins’ first four games this season for your NFL betting odds. The team has an over-under win total of 9.5, and we lean over that total if Tua stays healthy.

Miami Dolphins: Top Games to Bet in Regular Season Week 1-4 | NFL Lines by MyBookie

NFL Regular Season: September 7, 2023 – January 7, 2024

Miami’s 2023 schedule is highlighted by three primetime games as well as two additional standalone nationally televised matchups. The Dolphins will play nine regular season games at home, including Christmas Eve against the Dallas Cowboys, and will host Monday Night Football at Hard Rock Stadium for the first time in six years on Dec. 11 vs. the Titans.

Here’s a look at Miami’s first four games and the NFL odds for the Dolphins and not the opponent. The Fins will be without Pro Bowl cornerback Jalen Ramsey, acquired this winter from the Rams, likely for all four at least due to left meniscus surgery.

Chargers (+2.5)

Week 1 at SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, CA
When: Sunday, september 10, 4:25pm ET
TV/Streaming: CBS

Of course, the Dolphins took Tua with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft when they probably should have taken Justin Herbert, who went No. 6 to the LA Chargers, is off to a historic statistical start and already got a massive new extension. The teams played in LA in Week 14 last year and the Chargers won 23-17. Jason Sanders nailed a clutch 55-yard field goal with 1:10 remaining to make it a one possession game, but Los Angeles recovered the onside kick on the next play to seal the win. The Dolphins had four sacks and allowed just six points in the second half. But the Fins had just 219 total yards of offense. Miami’s offense struggled to solve the Chargers defense, which generated constant pressure. Tagovailoa completed 10 of his 28 passes for 145 yards and one touchdown, a 60-yard deep ball to receiver Tyreek Hill. The Dolphins are 7-3 in their past 10 season openers despite six of those 10 games coming on the road.

Patriots (pick’em)

Week 2 at Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, MA
When: Sunday, september 17, 8:20pm ET
TV/Streaming: NBC

The Fins lost 23-21 at New England in Week 17 last season when Tua was out injured. Kyle Dugger intercepted Teddy Bridgewater and returned it 39 yards for a go-ahead TD late in the third quarter as New England snapped a four-game losing streak in the series. Bridgewater started in Tua’s place and was solid, completing 12 of 19 passes for 161 yards and a touchdown before leaving late in the third quarter with an injured right ring finger after being picked off by Dugger. He was replaced by third-stringer Skyler Thompson, who had an interception and a late TD pass to Mike Gesicki to trim the deficit to 23-21. He finished 12 of 21 for 104 yards. Miami was also without left tackle Terron Armstead (toe/pectoral muscle/knee/hip), cornerback Xavien Howard (knee), and linebacker Bradley Chubb (ankle/hand).

Broncos (-3.5)

Week 3 at Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens, FL
When: Sunday, september 24, 1:00pm ET
TV/Streaming: CBS

These teams didn’t play last season. Denver was one of the biggest disappointments in the NFL in 2022 but should be much improved under new coach Sean Payton – a guy the Dolphins once chased. Russell Wilson is expected to return to Hall of Fame form under Payton, although Wilson just lost a receiver for the season in Tim Patrick. Patrick, one of the team’s emotional leaders, led the team in touchdown receptions (five) in 2021, the last full season he played. He missed the 2022 season with a torn right ACL and then suffered a torn left Achilles during practice Monday so he’ll miss another. The Dolphins are 9-1 all-time against Denver at home. The Broncos’ only win at Miami was on Oct. 23, 2011 (15-18).

Bills (+4)

Week 4 at Highmark Stadium, Orchard Park, NY
When: Sunday, october 1, 1:00pm ET
TV/Streaming: CBS

Miami lost twice in Buffalo last season: 32-29 in Week 15 and then 34-31 in the wild card round. In the first matchup, the Bills overcame an eight-point deficit capped by Tyler Bass hitting a 25-yard field goal as time expired for the victory. Tagovailoa finished 17 of 30 for 234 yards and two touchdowns, including a 67-yarder to Jaylen Waddle. Tua missed the playoff game yet the Fins almost pulled off the big upset. The game wasn’t decided until Buffalo’s defense, which forced six punts and two turnovers, stopped Miami as it turned the ball over on downs on its final possession. Skylar Thompson’s pass on fourth-and-6 went just off the fingertips of tight end Mike Gesicki with 2:22 remaining. Miami’s last win in Buffalo came on Dec. 24, 2016.
