Baseball is back, and while it looks a whole lot different than what we are used to, it’s great to have games to watch and wager on once again. This season could very well prove to be about as unpredictable as it gets, as there are just 60 games in the regular season, which could well mean that teams who get off to a slow start end up in real trouble in the coming weeks. What is odd is that after 3 games, no team has been able to post a perfect record and no team is winless. Let’s take a closer look at this upcoming game so you can wager against their MLB odds.
New York Yankees at Philadelphia Phillies Game Info
We are probably going to see the better teams in the league eventually begin to take a stranglehold and pull away, but until that happens, this parity is going to be fun to watch. It will make wagering a little tricky in the early going as teams try to adjust to the new normal, but we are going to do out best to deliver as many winners as possible until things begin to level out. The New York Yankees will hot the road to face the Phillies on Monday night and will do so favored by 1 ½. The run total for this one is set at 10 ½.
Why bet on the New York Yankees
Most of us expected the New York Yankees to be the team to beat, and we all believed that they would be scoring runs for fun in this shortened season. That may well still prove to be the case, but they have not really delivered the good through their opening 3 games of the season. They did manage to take the series against the defending champion Washington Nationals on the road, which is good, but they were outscored 12-9 over the 3 games, which is not so good. Granted, it was a 9-2 loss in the 2nd game in that series that made things look a little worse than they are, but the Yankees will want to start getting in a groove quickly. They will send J.A Happ to the mound for this one. Happ went 12-8 with a 4.91 ERA last season.
Why bet on Philadelphia Phillies
If the first 3 games of the season are anything to go by, the Philadelphia Phillies are going to be a lot of fun to watch. They went 1-2 against the Miami Marlins, with a combined 32 runs scored in those 3 games. Surrendering 17 runs in 3 games is not really something to be proud of, though, so they will need to find a way to stop the big guns in the Yankees lineup from having a breakout game. The last time that these two met in a series was back in 2018 with the Yankees taking 2 of 3 from Washington in a trio of games that were very much on the low scoring side of things. It will be Jake Arrieta, who went 8-8 with a 4-6-4 ERA last season, who will try to shut the Yankees down on Monday.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction
Yes, we have seen a lot of runs scored in the 3 Phillies games this season, but I still think that the 10 ½ point total is a little on the high side. I am taking the Yankees to win and the UNDER.
