The Miami Heat and Golden State Warriors will both be looking to get back in the win column when they square off on Monday night, live from the Chase Center in sunny South beach. With the Heat looking to improve their playoff chances after making a roster-altering trade last week and the Warriors simply playing out the string in expectations of potentially landing the top overall pick in this summer’s NBA Draft, let’s see how the NBA betting odds will be for the Warriors vs Heat.

How to Bet Raptors vs Pacers NBA Odds & TV Info

Why Bet on Miami?

The Heat have lost two straight, including a 115-109 loss at Portland on Sunday, so the Heat should definitely be focused coming into this matchup. Miami made a roster-altering trade last week to acquire former Warriors star and NBA Finals MVP Andre Iguodala and veteran forward Jae Crowder in a three-team trade with Memphis.

"Incorporating Andre and Jae was a big plus for us," Miami coach Erik Spoelstra said after Sunday’s loss. "They’re veteran players, so they pick up things very quickly. It felt like they have been with us for a while. Andre does so many small things. The majority of them probably don’t even show up (in the box score). His IQ level is so high."

The Heat are averaging 111.9 points per game (15th) while limiting the opposition to 108.3 points per contest defensively (11th). Miami has gone an uninspiring 12-15 on the road this season. Veteran forward Jimmy Butler leads the team in scoring and assists by averaging 20.5 points and 6.2 assists per game.

Why Bet on Golden State?

Golden State has also lost two straight including a hard-fought 125-120 loss to LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday. Marquese Chriss scored a team-high 26 points on a blistering 12 of 15 shooting night while new addition Andrew Wiggins added 24 points in his debut with the Dubs. Golden State also made some roster-altering trades last week by moving veterans Alec Burks and Glenn Robinson III in one trade while moving point guard D’Angelo Russell to Minnesota for Wiggins, a former No. 1 overall draft pick who never quite lived up to that stature in his time with the Timberwolves.

Still, Wiggins is just 25-years-old and head coach Steve Kerr says he doesn’t have to be a star for the Warriors with superstars Steph Curry and Klay Thompson set to return next season.

"Minnesota needed him to be a star, and we’re not asking him to be a star," Kerr told reporters. "We’re asking him to play a role on a team that already has some star players. It’s a huge addition for us to add Andrew on the wing," Kerr said. "It’s a position we had to fill, and we feel good about it."

Golden State averages 106.4 points per game (25th) while allowing 114.8 points per game defensively (24th). The Warriors have gone 7-18 at home this season.

Expert Analysis and Prediction

I know Golden State put up a really good effort to give the Lakers all they could handle on Saturday, but the Dubs are still a team that has lost six of its last nine games by double digits including a pitiful 129-88 loss at Brooklyn last Wednesday. More importantly, the Warriors are going to be facing a Miami team that will seriously want to get back in the win column in this matchup and one that will definitely be be more focused and locked-in because of the additions of Andre Iguodala and Jae Crowder.  I like Jimmy Butler to lock down Andrew Wiggins while Bam Adebayo mostly has his way down low. Miami has gone 20-7-1 ATS in their last 28 games following a straight up loss, 7-2-1 ATS in the last 10 meetings against Golden State and 4-1-2 ATS in the last 7 road dates against the Dubs. I like Miami to win and cover the chalk with room to spare!
