NBA Week 3 Rundown: Top Betting Matchups and Picks for the Week

2022 NBA Week 3

  • When: Monday, Oct. 31 – Sunday, Nov. 6

Boston Celtics at Cleveland Cavaliers | Wednesday, Nov. 2

Boston is in decent form. But in the last head-to-head versus the Cavaliers, the Celtics lost 132-128 in overtime.

Both Tatum and Jaylen Brown scored 32 points. Versus the Cavs on Wednesday, Boston could be in some trouble because it will be difficult to repeat the effort. The Cavs rank second in points allowed per game  at 105.7. Cavaliers win and cover.

NBA Week 3 Pick: Cleveland Cavaliers

Chicago Bulls at Boston Celtics | Friday, Nov. 4

48 hours after facing the Cavs, the Celtics take on another top team in the Chicago Bulls. In their last against Chicago, the Celtics had no answer in a 120-102 loss.

The problem Boston had was stopping Bulls center Nikola Vucevic. The Chicago big man scored 18 points and grabbed 23 boards. Boston center Robert Williams II is out until February. So Vucevic could have another monster game.

NBA Week 3 Pick: Boston Celtics

Milwaukee Bucks at Minnesota Timberwolves | Friday, Nov. 4

Heading into the week, the Bucks are an incredible 5-0 straight up streak. During the win streak, Milwaukee has beaten Philadelphia, Brooklyn, New York, and Atlanta.

Giannis is averaging 34.4 points and 14 rebounds per game. Not only has Milwaukee won all 5 of their games so far, but they’ve also covered the spread in all 5.

Minnesota has a 4-3 record. It looks like the T’Wolves are going through some growing pains. Minnesota figures to be much better once Rudy Gobert, Anthony Edwards, and Karl Anthony-Towns gel.

NBA Week 3 Pick: Milwaukee Bucks

New Orleans Pelicans at Atlanta Hawks | Saturday, Nov. 5

Two of the youngest stars in the game throw down when Atlanta’s Trae Young leads the Hawks against New Orleans’ Zion Williamson and the Pelicans. But although all eyes will be on Young and Williamson, the Pels are a good play to win this straight up because of their guards.

Williamson will ensure Young doesn’t easily get into the lane. If Trae tries to get his three point shot going, the Pels’ second ranked three-point shooting defense will put the clamps on him. New Orleans has a real shot of grabbing an SU road win.

NBA Week 3 Pick: New Orleans Pelicans

Portland Trail Blazers at Phoenix Suns | Saturday, Nov. 5

Heading into the week, the Trail Blazers are 5-1 SU and ATS. Portland is leaning on an inside – outside game that includes the great Damian Lillard and underrated center Jusuf Nurkic.

Nurkic averages 12.2 boards while Damian is dropping 31 per game. The Suns are on fire, they’ve covered in 3 straight heading into the week, but the matchup favors Portland. Give Portland a look for sure.

NBA Week 3 Pick: Portland Trail Blazers

Cleveland Cavaliers at Los Angeles Lakers | Sunday, Nov. 6

ESPN recently ran a story about how the Lakers might be the worst shooting team in NBA history. That’s bad new for L.A. and their fans facing the backcourt duo of Donovan Mitchell and Caris LeVert.

Mitchell shoots 49.6% from the field and over 45% from three. LeVert shoots 33% from the field but a ridiculous 48.5% from three.

The Lakers are 1-5 SU and 1-5 ATS heading into the week. The Cavaliers should punish the the geriatric Lakers.

NBA Week 3 Pick: Cleveland Cavaliers.
