NFL Betting Predictions: Early Picks of Potential AFC and NFC Division Winners

There is a definite timeline to follow for NFL fans awaiting the start of the new season. We have the Draft, free agency, OTA’s, and then the start of training camps across the country. It’s the opening of training camp that clearly signals that we are getting very close to the preseason games and the start of the regular season. Given that we are now just about a month away from camps opening, it is getting to the point where we need to start thinking about futures bets. With that in mind, let’s look at the current NFL odds for each division in the NFL.

AFC Divisions – NFL Lines

East

It will come as no surprise to any football fan that the Buffalo Bills (+125) open as the favorites to win the East. This is a team whose window of opportunity to win a Super Bowl is very much open, although they might get a stiff challenge to win the East from the Dolphins, and perhaps even the Jets.

North

I have a feeling that this division could be tight, and that you could make an argument for all 4 teams. Right now, though, it is the Bengals who are in as the favorite to win the North at odds of +130. The Ravens, Browns, and Steelers are not that far behind, though, and I’ll be keeping an eye on these odds as the season progresses.

South

The Jacksonville Jaguars started putting things together in the second half of last season, making a late run to win the division. I think they are going to be even better this year, and the bookies seem to agree, putting them in as the favorite at odds of -158.

West

The defending Super Bowl champions Kansas City Chiefs are going to once again be the team to beat in the West. They are in as solid favorites at odds of -161 right now, with the LA Chargers seen as their closest potential rival.

NFC Divisions – NFL Lines

East

After a great season that saw them go all the way to the Super Bowl, it’s no surprise to see the Philadelphia Eagles in as the favorite to win the East at odds of -118. The Dallas Cowboys might have something to say about this, but the Eagles are well worthy of the top spot on the bookies board.

North

It’s a season of transition and change in the North, with the Packers set to begin life without Aaron Rodgers under center. His departure has shaken things up in the division, with the Detroit Lions (+130) currently listed as the favorite.

South

This is yet another division in a state of flux and one that is a little more difficult to call than most of the others. Right now, the bookies have the New Orleans Saints in as the favorite to win the South at odds of +120. There are arguments to be made for the Falcons and Panthers, too.

West

With the Rams and Cardinals pretty much in rebuild mode, the path seems to be clear for the San Francisco 49ers to land atop the West this season. The bookies seem to agree and have them on the board at odds of -175. This looks to be one of the safer bets of the bunch.
