MLB Odds and Picks: Pitchers to Back in Week 10

Dialing Up the Heat: Top MLB Pitchers to Watch (and Wager On) for Week 10

As Major League Baseball heats up in Week 10, all eyes turn to the mound. Dominant starting pitchers can single-handedly sway the outcome of a game, making them crucial factors to consider when analyzing betting MLB lines.

Week 10 of the Major League Baseball season has arrived. We are looking forward to another great week of hardball on the diamond.

Let’s take a look the top pitchers to follow for Week 10 of the season:

2024 MLB Odds for the Top Pitchers to Follow in Week 10 | Baseball Betting Analysis for the Regular Season

2024 MLB | 155th edition of professional baseball in United States
Week 10: Monday, June 3rd – Sunday, June 9th, 2024

Justin Verlander, Houston Astros

The hard throwing right hander gets a crack at the St. Louis Cardinals first. Verlander has thrown 47 innings this season, and struck out 44 batters.

Verlander sits at 3-2 on the season with a 3.26 earned run average.

The Cardinals were hot for a while, but have scuffled as of late.

Later in the week, the Angels are on the schedule, which means another good chance for a nice outing.

We like Verlander to have two solid performances on the mound for Houston this week.

Zack Wheeler, Philadelphia Phillies

Wheeler will get a crack at the Brewers and Mets at home. Milwaukee continues to find their way around the lineup with solid bats.

The Brewers and Phillies are a battle of first place teams.

The Brewers though have a tendency to slow down the bats against the best of the best. That is Wheeler.

We like his ability to strike guys out with a wipe out pitch or two.

Later in the week, he gets a soft hitting New York Mets squad.

We like Wheeler this week on the mound.

Kevin Gausman, Toronto Blue Jays

Gausman gets a chance to throw for Toronto on Monday. That opens up a week that sees the Blue Jays take on the Orioles and the Athletics.

That Baltimore offense can be lethal, but so can Gausman’s ability to work around problems.

The right hander is 4-3 on the season and holds a 4.14 earned run average.

He has struck out 56 batters this season over 54.1 innings.

Over the weekend, we like his chances against a poor Oakland offense as well.

Seth Lugo, Kansas City Royals

One of the most overlooked right handed pitchers in all of Major League Baseball has been Seth Lugo. He throws for a Kansas City team that just keeps finding ways to win.

His first start on Tuesday is at Cleveland against McKenzie and the Guardians.

He will later in the week get  the Seattle Mariners at home. Lugo’s success has been his ability to throw strikes.

He has just 18 walks in 78.1 innings this season. We like Lugo a lot this week.

Max Fried, Atlanta Braves

The lefthander is making his 12th start of the season. Fried is 5-2 on the season and has a 2.97 earned run average. Atlanta is in second place in the National League East, but a long way to go to catch the Phillies, who are running away with it.

The lefthander will get two starts this week, both on the road, as over the weekend, Atlanta will take on the Washington Nationals.

Take a look at Fried this week.

Lynn has been known to step up to the challenge, so we are excited to see him face off against the Phillies on Sunday.

MLB Odds and Picks: Pitchers to Back in Week 10

Previous Betting News

Week 10 of the MLB season has already begun, but there are still a ton of games to come this week after a pretty light schedule on Monday. With that in mind, it’s once again time to look ahead at the games on tap and pick out a few pitchers that we like this week. When making these lists, I use a couple of different factors, starting with the form that each pitcher is in, as well as the team and opposing pitcher they will face in their upcoming game. The hope is that by doing that, we can all add some winning picks to our MLB betting slips. Let’s now look ahead at the next few days to find some pitchers to back.

MLB Pitchers to Back after Week 9 of the season | MLB Lines by MyBookie

Mitch Keller
Pittsburgh Pirates

When Keller steps onto the mound, the Pirates almost always seem to find a way to win. His last start is a perfect example, as he gave up 4 ER in 6 innings pitched in a 9-4 win over the San Francisco Giants. Despite those less than perfect numbers, it was still enough for Keller to get the W and take his season record to 7-1 with an ERA of 3.25. Keller has picked up the win in 4 of his last 5 starts and will be on the mound on Tuesday night to face the hapless Oakland A’s, which I believe means we can put him down for another win.

Corbin Burnes
Milwaukee Brewers

Not every player that we pick will have stats that are mind-blowing, which is very much the case with Burnes. He is 4-4 overall with an ERA of 3.75, and while he has not had a lot of success of late, he also hasn’t had a ton of run support, The Brewers went on a stretch where they lost 3 in a row with Burnes on the mound, managing just 3 total runs in those games. No pitcher is going to get wins in that situation. He pitched 6 pretty solid innings in his last outing, although he did not get the win in a 5-4 victory over the Reds. He is set to take the mound on Wednesday night against Baltimore.

Clayton Kershaw
LA Dodgers

Looking ahead to Thursday, it is Clayton Kershaw who jumps off the page when looking at the matchups on tap. He is coming off a stellar performance against the Yankees, where he struck out 9 and delivered a 2.57 ERA in an 8-4 win. That broke him out of a bit of a mini-slump, and I think it might be a sign that he is ready to turn things up a notch. His next start will come against the Cincinnati Reds, and I have a feeling it will be a good one.

Gerrit Cole
New York Yankees

It’s very hard to bet against a pitcher who is yet to take a loss this season, which is where we are at with Cole, who is 7-0 with a 2.82 ERA. He has been good all season long, but he is coming off an absolute gem against the LA Dodgers, giving up just 1 ER in 6 innings pitched, helping the Yankees take the 6-3 win. His next start comes on Friday night against the struggling Red Sox, which should equal another win.
