NBA Championship Odds for the 76ers after the First Round

NBA Championship Odds for the 76ers after the First Round

The Philadelphia 76ers eliminated the Brooklyn Nets in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. Philadelphia came out and played incredible basketball for four games and showed Brooklyn that they didn’t belong on the same court as them. They did so without Joel Embiid even playing in the fourth game of the series.

Outside of that, Embiid didn’t necessarily play too well against Brooklyn, as he only scored 26, 20, and 14 points in his three games. However, Philadelphia proved that they have some depth, and guys like Tyrese Maxey and James Harden can step up for them when it matters most.

That makes them one of the most dangerous teams in the Eastern Conference season, but does that mean they have enough to get past the Philadelphia 76ers or Milwaukee Bucks?

NBA Championship Odds for the 76ers after the First Round

2023 NBA Finals: June 1 – June 18

Philadelphia 76ers NBA Finals Odds

Milwaukee is currently down 2-1 to the Miami Heat. Giannis Antetokounmpo has not played since the early stages of game one before exiting with a back injury. If he’s not healthy, Milwaukee is going to have a tough time, maybe even getting out of their first series.

The Boston Celtics have played well against the Atlanta Hawks and currently hold a 3-1 series lead. They will have an opportunity of winning that series in game 5, which will take place on Tuesday. Boston is currently 11-point favorites to get the job done.

If the Celtics win that game against the Hawks, they will take on the Philadelphia 76ers in the Eastern Conference semi-finals.

Philadelphia has struggled to get out of the second round throughout the past two decades as they haven’t done so in more than 10 years. However, they still have the fourth-highest odds to win the NBA finals and currently hold the third-highest odds in the Eastern Conference behind the Celtics and Bucks. Philadelphia has +720 odds to win the NBA Finals this season.

There are a few different ways that we can look at Philadelphia, but the fact that they have to play Boston in the second round could be the deciding factor in whether or not to place a bet on them.

They’ve proven throughout the year that they can beat some of the high-level teams in the NBA. However, there’s always going to be that factor of them not getting out of the second round and people being afraid to bet on them.

If Joel Embiid also isn’t going to be 100% healthy, it’s going to be tough for them to get anything going.

NBA Second Round for the Philadelphia 76ers

Even if Philadelphia was to beat the Boston Celtics in the second round, there’s a chance that they’re going to have to play the Milwaukee Bucks or Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals. Perhaps Milwaukee is the better team, but Miami could also make it tough on Philadelphia to get the job done.

It will be interesting to see how this team plays throughout the next few weeks. They’ve proven throughout the regular season that they can be one of the top teams in the NBA. At the end of the day, they need to prove that they can do that in the postseason as well.
