2024 MLB Season
Another week of Major League Baseball action.
This week is the Major League Baseball trade deadline, and will be the start of the final two weeks of the season.
We have some interesting games on task, and we want to take a look at some of the top Major League Baseball pitchers to follow for Week 18.
Here they are:
Writer’s Pitchers Picks for MLB Week 17
Jack Flaherty, Detroit Tigers
Monday, July 29th, 2024
If Flaherty is going to get traded at the Major League Baseball trade deadline, this would be his final start in Detroit.
The right hander is 7-5 on the season, with a 3.13 earned run average.
Flaherty has struck out 133 batters and walked 19 on the season in throwing more than 106 innings on the season.
The Tigers are just two games under .500 on the season, and trying to make a mini push.
They get the first place Guardians to start the week, and Kansas City over the weekend.
Zack Wheeler, Philadelphia Phillies
Monday, July 29th, 2024
Wheeler gets his first chance of the week against the New York Yankees.
What a game this should be.
Wheeler has been electric with the strikeouts this season, with 133 on the season, and just 37 walks.
Wheeler has thrown 123.2 innings on the season, and has a 2.70 earned run average.
His second start would come later in the week, as they head out on the road to take on a week hitting Seattle team.
Wheeler is a good one to watch this week.
Nathan Eovaldi, Texas Rangers
Monday, July 29th, 2024
Eovaldi will get a Cardinals team on Monday that simply has been in a big time struggle.
The Cardinals struggled all weekend against the Nationals.
St. Louis is finding themselves in the race, but fading fast.
Eovaldi is 6-4 on the season, and a 3.36 earned run average.
The fireball righthander has struck out 104 batters, and walked 26 on the season.
Eovaldi will then get a weekend game at home against the Boston Red Sox.
Logan Gilbert, Seattle Mariners
Monday, July 29th, 2024
Gilbert is 6-6 on the season, but probably Seattle’s best starting pitcher.
He has thrown 139 innings, and struck out 132 batters on the season.
Gilbert and the Mariners need to get going, as things have evened up a little in the American League West.
Gilbert will face the Boston Red Sox on Monday, and then get a chance to take on the Philadelphia Phillies over the weekend.
That would be a big test for Gilbert, but we like his stuff.
Paul Skenes, Pittsburgh Pirates
Monday, July 29th, 2024
The starting pitcher for the National League in the All Star Game – Paul Skenes.
The rookie out of LSU will look to get back on track following his first loss of the season.
That game came at home to St. Louis.
Skenes has struck out 97 batters, and walked 13 in just 74.2 innings this season.
He has been the ace for the Pirates this season, and a team that is still trying to contend for the wildcard in the National League.
Skenes would then get a home game against Arizona over the weekend to wrap up his week.
There is a look at the top pitchers to follow for Week 18 of the Major League Baseball season.
We are excited for these games and all the action this week.
Enjoy the games and best of luck with all your Major League Baseball action.

2024 MLB Season
Another week of Major League Baseball action is set to get started.
Following the All Star Break, we are back to our first full week of games to be played.
Today, we want to discuss the starting pitchers that are going to be in action, and list a few to follow along with this week.
Here are our MLB pitchers to follow in Week .
Writer’s Pitchers Picks for MLB Week 16
Max Fried, Atlanta Braves
Monday, July 22nd, 2024
The first test of the week for Fried is Hunter Greene and the Cincinnati Reds.
Fried is 7-5 on the season with a 3.08 earned run average.
Fried has struck out 95 batters and walked 34 over 108 innings this season.
The Braves are still one of the teams to beat out of the National League, so if they are going to make a postseason run, it has to be with this hurler showing out.
He will get the Reds on Monday, and then get a weekend game in Queens against the New York Mets to round out his week.
Carlos Rodon, New York Yankees
Monday, July 22nd, 2024
The lefthander for the Yankees is seeking his 10th win of the season.
Rodon continues to give New York solid work in the rotation, but not great.
Rodon has an ERA of 4.63, which is much higher than they are hoping for.
He will look to lower that in the second half, starting with a home game against the Rays on Monday.
Rodon will likely get the game on Sunday at Boston, so a big week for him and his Yankee teammates.
Erick Fedde, Chicago White Sox
Monday, July 22nd, 2024
Fedde gets the nod on Monday for the White Sox, and it could be one of his final starts for them.
He is on the trade block, as one of the lone bright spots for the White Sox this season.
Fedde is 7-3 on the season, with an ERA of just shy of 3.00.
Fedde has struck out 99 batters, and walked just 30.
The hurler should get two starts this week.
Monday against the Rangers, and likely Saturday against Seattle after the four game series against Texas finishes up.
Paul Skenes, Pittsburgh Pirates
Tuesday, July 23rd, 2024
The Pirates are one of the hottest teams in all of Major League Baseball.
Pittsburgh won their last four before the break, and have won two in a row after.
They will get Paul Skenes on the mound for this game against the St.
Louis Cardinals.
The Cardinals are the next team the Pirates are trying to chase down.
Skenes was the starter for the National League in the All Star Game
He is 6-0 on the season with a 1.90 earned run average.
Skenes has struck out 89 batters in 66.1 innings.
He is must watch.
Keep an eye on him Tuesday!
Zack Wheeler, Philadelphia Phillies
Tuesday, July 23rd, 2024
It will likely just be one start for Wheeler this week.
The Phillies have Thursday off, pushing him to get his second start on Monday.
But, Tuesday’s start against Minnesota is enough to keep an eye on him.
Wheeler has been tremendous.
He is 10-4 on the season with a 2.70 earned run average.
Wheeler has struck out 126 batters and walked 35 on the season in just over 116 innings.
He gets a Twins team in Minnesota that can be pretty hit or miss.
Keep an eye on Wheeler on the mound this week.
There you have it. Those are our MLB pitchers to follow in Week of the season.

MLB Pitchers to Back after Week 17
Previous Betting News
Another week of MLB action is in the books, with the battle for playoff spots getting ready to heat up as we head down the stretch. All told, we have seen 17 weeks of the season, and while there are a couple of teams who look set to clinch their respective divisions sooner rather than later, we are going to see some Wild Card battles go all the way down to the wire. As we do every week, we are taking a look at the upcoming schedule to try and find a few pitchers who we believe you can count on when making your wagers over the next few days. We will have 4 different pitchers for the next 4 days, so let’s take a look at the guys we think you can wager on MLB with confidence this week.
MLB Top Pitchers after Week 17 of the season | MLB Lines by MyBookie
MLB Week 17: Monday July 31 – Sunday August 6, 2023
Justin Steele
Chicago Cubs | #35
Bats: Left / Throws: Left
Speaking of wide-open divisions, the race to win the NL Central is a tight one. The Reds have the lead at the moment, but it is not what you would call a safe one by any stretch of the imagination. The Cubs are still in the picture and have a series against the Reds to start the week. They lost the opening game, but I think they have a much better shot on Tuesday night with Justin Steele on the mound. He is having a great season and is sitting at 11-3 with an ERA of 2.87. He has won each of his last 2 starts, surrendering just 3 ER in those 3 games.

Zack Wheeler
Philadelphia Phillies | #45
Bats: Left / Throws: Right
Barring some sort of major disaster, the NL East looks to be headed the way of the Atlanta Braves. While the Phillies are 11 games off the pace, they are still very much in the Wild Card conversation. They have a huge series against the Miami Marlins this week and have already taken Game 1 of that series. Moving ahead to Wednesday, they will be looking to win again with Wheeler on the mound. He has been on a tear over the last couple of months, with the Phillies winning 8 of the last 9 games he has started, so you have to go with the hot hand.

Kevin Gausman
Toronto Blue Jays | #34
Bats: Left / Throws: Right
If truth be told, it has been something of a disappointing season for the Blue Jays to this point, but they have kept plugging away and are still right there in the Wild Card hunt. They need a strong, more consistent second half of the season, though, and a good showing against the Baltimore Orioles this week would certainly help their cause. I like their chances on Thursday night with Gausman on the mound. He is coming off a strong showing last time out after a poor run of form, and I think he might have another good one in him this week.

MyBookie Betting Lines for the Game
Luis Castillo
Seattle Mariners | #58
Bats: Right / Throws: Right
Another division that looks to be very much up for grabs is the AL West. The Mariners are down in 4th at the moment, but they are also just 5 games out of the lead, which is not an insurmountable gap. They have won 2 in a row and 7 of their last 10 and will hand the ball to Castillo on Friday night in a road game versus the Angels. Castillo has a very respectable ERA of 2.88 and is coming off a quality start last time out. I think he puts in another great shift on Friday.
