Betting Pitchers in Week 11 of the MLB Season
While all eyes are on the overall team performance, starting pitchers can significantly impact the outcome of any MLB game.
Understanding their recent form, pitching matchups, and injuries is crucial before placing your wagers.
By analyzing these factors alongside the latest online betting MLB odds, you can craft a strategic approach to your baseball bets.
There are some great games on tap, and even better pitchers on the slate. Let’s take a look at the top pitchers in Major League Baseball to follow for Week 11 of the season:
Corbin Burnes, Baltimore Orioles
Burnes will get the start for Baltimore on Monday against the Rays in the final game of the series.
After missing Atlanta during the week, Burnes will be forced to take on the Phillies over the weekend.
One of the best offenses in the game.
Burnes is likely up to the challenge, as he has never been a pitcher that backs down from competition.
Burnes is 6-2 on the season, and his ERA is 2.26.
We like him to throw two gems this week on the diamond.

Seth Lugo, Kansas City Royals
The Kansas City hurler is having an incredible 2024 season.
Lugo is 0-6 with a 2.13. He has struck out 71 batters in 84.1 innings this season.
He is looking to win his 10th game, but will face a very tough New York Yankees lineup first.
Later in the week the Royals will play at the Los Angeles Dodgers.
What a tough week for Kansas City.
It is going to be a challenge for Lugo, we will see if he can stand up to it.

Dylan Cease, San Diego Padres
Cease has been fine in his first season with the San Diego Padres.
The former White Sox right hander is 5-5 on the season, with a 3.51. Cease could not ask for a better duo of games this week.
After hosting Oakland at home on Monday, he will get the New York Mets over the weekend.
Two light hitting teams.
This could be the week Cease breaks out for the 2024 season.

Paul Skenes, Pittsburgh Pirates
Even the fans in St. Louis are excited to see Skenes throw on Tuesday.
It will be his sixth start of the season, and of his career.
He is 3-0 with a 3.00 earned run average so far.
The Cardinals have a tendency to strike out a bunch, and that’s what Skenes does best.
He has 38 strikeouts in 27 innings.
His second start of the week is slated for the weekend, on the road at the Colorado Rockies.

Jack Flaherty, Detroit Tigers
The former St. Louis Cardinals and Baltimore Orioles right hander will get the start on Tuesday.
He is suffering through a little bit of a back injury, but is expected to make his 13th start of the season.
Flaherty has thrown 72.2 innings this season, and struck out 94 batters.
He is still one of the best strikeout pitchers in all of Major League Baseball.
His first start is against the Washington Nationals, and his second is on the road at the Houston Astros over the weekend.
Two teams he can get the strikeout again, and if he can, should have success in the win column as well.

MLB Odds and Picks: Pitchers to Back in Week 11
Previous Betting News
After a somewhat quiet Monday night in baseball, Week 11 of the MLB season kicks into high gear on Tuesday, with a full slate of games to choose from. Yes, it’s going to be another busy week, with some fantastic MLB series to watch and wager on. Like every week, though, narrowing down the games to play can be tough, which is why we try and lend a hand by looking at the pitchers we like, as well as those we don’t, for the games this week. Some of the pitchers we choose to back or avoid may come as a bit of a surprise, but we take several factors into account when picking them out. Let’s get the ball rolling by looking at 4 pitchers we will be backing this week.
MLB Pitchers to Back after Week 10 of the season | MLB Lines by MyBookie
Spencer Strider
Atlanta Braves
Even a pitcher who is having a great season will have an off day every now and again, which is what happened to Strider in his last starts, where he gave up 8 ER in just 4 innings of work. The big surprise here is that the Braves still managed to come away with the win in that one. It was very much an off day for Strider, who has been solid all season, going 6-2 with a 3.79 ERA. He will get the ball again on Tuesday night against the Detroit Tigers, with the Braves looking to bounce back from a loss in the opening game of this series. I like Strider to get his mojo back here.

Clayton Kershaw
LA Dodgers
Kershaw is becoming something of a regular feature in these weekly picks, but I am going to keep rolling with him for as long as he stays hot and has a matchup that I like. Kershaw is coming off an absolute gem in his last start, pitching 7 innings and not giving up a single run in a 6-0 win over the Cincinnati Reds, which means that the Dodgers have picked up the W in each of his last 3 starts. Overall, Kershaw is 8-4 with a 2.95 ERA and looks set for another win.

Sonny Gray
Minnesota Twins
The Twins are playing .500 ball through their first 66 games, and while that would have them struggling in most divisions, that record has them on top in the Central. One of the highlights of their season to this point is the work they have been getting out of Sonny Gray, who is 4-1 with a very respectable 2.25 ERA. He is expected to take the mound on Thursday night versus the Detroit Tigers and will be looking to replicate his last start, where he gave up just 1 run in 5 innings pitched against an explosive Blue Jays offense.

Zac Gallen
Arizona Diamondbacks
Gallen is another pitcher that we have used in the past, and while he is not coming off a great showing in his last time out, he has, for the most part, been a solid performer all season long. He will be on the mound on Friday night against the Cleveland Guardians, as he looks to improve on his 7-2 record and 3.09 ERA. I think this could be the matchup that gets him back on the rails and helps the D-Backs get another W.

MLB Odds and Picks: Pitchers to Avoid in Week 11
Previous Betting News
We are now very close to the midway point of the MLB season, and it has become clear which teams are likely to be in the World Series conversation. We also know the teams that are little more than a punching bag at this point, but even with that knowledge, picking winners is still never easy. Every pitcher in the league, regardless of the team they play on, is in the MLB for a reason, which means that those with the poorer stats can still come out and pitch a gem. On the flipside, hot pitchers can have off days. Figuring out when those might happen can help you win, so with that in mind, let’s take a look at the pitchers we will be avoiding in Week 11 to consider in your MLB betting.
MLB Pitchers to Avoid after Week 10 of the season | MLB Lines by MyBookie
Dean Kremer
Baltimore Orioles
Quite often, I will go with a pitcher to avoid despite the fact that their overall numbers are not entirely bad. It is more to do with recent form and the pitching matchup they have ahead of them. That is very much the case with Kremer, who is having a very decent season for the Orioles, going 6-3 with a 4.89 ERA. What makes me nervous about starting him this week is that he has looked pretty average in 2 of his last 3 starts, including his last outing, where he gave up 6 earned runs in 5 innings in a 10-2 loss to the Brewers. That’s enough to put him on my avoid list.

Ranger Suarez
Philadelphia Phillies
The Phillies have been hovering around the .500 mark for the majority of the season and are currently 2 games below that mark heading into Week 11. They will start the week with a very tough road trip to Arizona and will have Suarez in the starting role on Wednesday night. Suarez has been very good of late, surrendering just 2 ER in his last 2 starts, where he pitched a total of 13 innings. There is a lot to like right now, but what I don’t like is this matchup, as I think he could be in trouble in the desert on Wednesday night. I’m choosing to avoid him in this outing.

Paul Blackburn
Oakland A’s
It wouldn’t be a sit them week without adding an Oakland pitcher into the mix, as this team has been just that bad this season as they sit in limbo waiting for a move to Las Vegas. They have a home stand coming later in the week, but the fact that it’s the Tampa Bay Rays coming to town is a reason for total pessimism. Blackburn will be on the mound for the Thursday game against the Rays, and while the A’s have won in 2 of his 3 starts this season, I think there is a good chance he gets the hook early in this one.

Tanner Houck
Boston Red Sox
Jumping ahead to Friday night, we have an iconic series set to go, with the Yankees and Red Sox once again set to do battle. The pitching matchup for this one is not what you would call a sparkling affair, but I do think that the Yankees have a bit of an edge. Boston has not had a ton of success with Houck on the mound and are on a run of 6 straight losses in the games that he has started. Overall, Houck is sitting at 3-6 with a 5.23 ERA, none of which are numbers that inspire much in the way of confidence.
