Written by on February 13, 2019

Steph Curry will enter the 2019 NBA Three-Point Contest a favorite to beat not only Sacramento’s Buddy Hield and Phoenix’s Devin Booker, but to also beat his brother, Seth Curry who plays for the Portland Trailblazers.

Another player who enters the contest is hometown all-star Kemba Walker. Will Steph bring it home, or will one of the other players take it in what’s shaping up as one of the top contests on NBA All-Star Saturday Night?

  • Devin Booker, Phoenix Suns +450
  • Seth Curry, Portland Trailblazers +550

  • Kemba Walker, Charlotte Hornets +1000
  • Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas Mavericks +1500

First Place:  Buddy Hield

  • 2019 NBA Three-Point Contest Odds: +325

The third year former Oklahoma Sooners’ star leads the Kings in points per game at 20.3. He’s not just a scorer, though. Buddy also averages over 5 boards and over 2 assists per. When it comes to shooting, though, he’s turned into one of the top players in the NBA.

Hield shoots 47.8% from the field. That’s exceptional for a guard. He shoots an incredible 45.2% from three. That’s why he’s the second choice on the board after Steph. Buddy should take it at great odds.

Second Place: Joe Harris

  • 2019 NBA Three-Point Contest Odds: +600

Harris has a recency advantage. Overall this season, he averages 13.6 points per. In his last 3 games, though, he’s scored 17, 19, and 24 points. Harris has what it takes to really light it up on Saturday night.

He shoots close to 50% from the field and 46.5% from three. If he gets into a rhythm, he could win the three-point contest. Also, we’ve got to love the odds, right? A hot player with a hot hand at those odds? Can it get any better?

Third Place: Steph Curry

  •  2019 NBA Three-Point Contest Odds: +275

The great Steph Curry is always a contender to win the NBA 3-Point Contest. However, there are some knocks. First, Curry doesn’t always show up with his best in events like this. He’s all about taking home NBA Championship rings, not winning individual events.

Not only that, but he must play in the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday. So, he might want to impress his teammates and leave most of his three point shooting on the court in the actual game.

Finally, he’s only hitting on 44.7% of his threes this season. He could find it difficult to get into a rhythm. He’s still worth a look to win, but finishing third might be what happens on Feb. 16.

Fourth Place: Kemba Walker

  • 2019 NBA Three-Point Contest Odds: +1000

We’ve got to throw in the home court choice into the Top 4. Kemba’s quietly had an awesome career already. This season, he’s averaging over 25 points and close to 6 assists per. He’s scored 30 points or more in Charlotte’s last 5 games.

Walker only connects on 36.7% of his three-point attempts. However, he could get into a rhythm on Saturday night that leads to a victory. At double-digit odds, he’s definitely worth a look.
